Game Days & Weather
Games are to be played according to the schedule distributed in advance. The game is on regardless of weather unless notified otherwise. If you have a question about field status, please contact our office, 726-6909, to hear a recorded message. The President and Director of Fields have sole authority on field issues. At the start or during the game, the referee has the sole authority to cancel the game due to weather and/or safety reasons.
Practice Location, Days and Times
All coaches in the league are volunteers. Practice days, times and locations are scheduled, by them, prior to the start of the season. Practice fields are located throughout the community. Each parent is responsible for getting players to and from practice on time. Practices are held once or twice per week and may be cancelled or rescheduled at the coach’s discretion.
Team Work
Coaches are trained to give each child an opportunity to play most positions in the course of the season. Slaughter rules are in place to assure games are fun for all.
Equipment and Clothing
Every child is required to wear the Ela uniform (blue shorts, reversible jersey & blue socks). No child may participate in any game or practice without shin guards or safety glasses. Soccer socks must be worn over the shin guards. Soccer cleats are suggested, but not required, for all U7-U14 players. Warm clothing can be worn only under their uniform. Hooded sweatshirts are NOT advised for safety reasons. Finally, shirts should always be tucked in to assist the referees with making calls.
Jewelry
Jewelry is NOT allowed at any games or practices. This includes earrings. NO EXCEPTIONS. Additional items not allowed are: hair attachments with metal, bracelets, medallions or chains, and rings. The only exceptions to this are items required for medical alert or religious purposes. These items must be taped onto the child.
Complaint Procedures
Contesting any game, outcome or score will not be allowed. Should any parent, player, coach, or referee have a complaint they should direct it to the appropriate Board Member indicated on the back of this brochure.
Ball Size
It is recommended, but not required, that each player own his/her own ball for use at practices and at home. Appropriate ball sizes are:
U7 & U8 size 3
U10 & U12 size 4
U14 and up size 5
Parent Code of Conduct
Coaches and spectators are to remain on separate sides of the field. No one is allowed behind the goal lines. Player sharing between teams will occur when short sided teams exist for games. Our goal is that all children play and parents should support this. Support players on both teams and referees in a positive way. Our children learn from us by our actions. If your soccer knowledge is better than what you see, remember we are always looking for new volunteers to help teach your children the game.
